Along with the Sociedad Rural complex in Palermo, the other iconic place of the high class in Buenos Aires was the Hipódromo de Palermo (for Horse Racing). The style of this place was entirely Beaux Arts, as always in this kind of buildings (frequented by the high class). The main buildings that stand today were built by the architect Louis Faure Dujarric. Several other buildings were annexed in the following decades. Though it was massive sport back in the days (as usual in most of the big cities in the world), the public became noticeably small within the last decades of the 20th century.
