Versailles

Probably, the best way to understand the French Revolution is to go to the Chateau of Versailles. While hundreds of thousands of people starved in the empire, the royal family built one outstanding palace, just a few miles away from Paris, where they used gold for their furniture and many parts of the buildings, on details of the walls and roofs, and even in the ridiculously exquisite fences. Though you may look at the minor details of the interiors, the furniture, and the facades for hours, the other big pleasure that you may get here is to walk in the large gardens with sculptures, fountains, and perfectly design layout of the vegetation. Among with the Chateau of Versailles and some quick shots of the gardens (it started snowing just when I was going outside), the video also shows some shots of the city of Versailles. Enjoy!
